Dr. Lena Suhaila is an integrative cancer care specialist. She is one of less that 100 doctors worldwide to hold a board certification in Naturopathic Oncology.
Prior to studying medicine, she worked as a pharmacokinetic analyst and clinical research associate on drug-treatments for prostate cancer. She received a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from The University of California, Santa Barbara and her doctorate of naturopathic medicine from The National College of Natural Medicine. Dr. Suhaila is currently working toward functional medicine certification through the Institute of Functional Medicine.
She completed her oncology residency in 2010 and was a member of the medical staff at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) before taking her personalized approach into private practice. She now sees patients internationally via telemedicine and is based in the San Francisco Bay Area in collaboration with Peninsula Integrative Medicine.
To balance her hard-science approach to natural medicine, Dr. Suhaila practices Vipassana meditation, Connected Circular Breathing, and Heart Math and applies them in her medical practice when appropriate.
