Improving mental wellbeing and reducing stress are key components of the integrated approach to optimizing health for our patients here at Peninsula Integrative.  However, many of our patients experience more intense and long-term symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD and other mental health conditions that need a focused intervention. Traditional treatments, such as pharmaceuticals and, can help, but may many patients do not achieve full, lasting results.  With this in mind, we are launching a physician-based Ketamine Program for patients suffering with chronic mental health conditions. The program is headed by Dr. Daniel Rieders, an integrative cardiologist, functional medicine doctor and energy medicine expert.  His interest in ketamine stemmed from a deep knowledge of how mind-body imbalances can affect his patients on every level, and a deep desire to help with healing the deepest wounds that contribute to illness.

Ketamine is a safe, FDA approved medication that has been used for over 50 years as an anesthetic and is currently being used off-label to treat common debilitating mental health conditions, such as anxiety and depression.  At the appropriate dose, research has shown that ketamine can help you disconnect from chronic negative emotions and thoughts and reconnect you with feelings of calm, positivity, clarity, creativity and a general sense of wellbeing– and these effects can be long lasting.

Ketamine therapy for many patients can be the key to living their best life on all levels: body, mind and spirit.  For more information about the program and to find out if this science-based therapy is right for you, please call our office to set up a free 10-minute preliminary consultation with Dr. Rieders at 650-485-2758.
