Dr. Michael McKee, ND, L.Ac.
Dr. Michael McKee is a licensed Naturopathic Physician and Acupuncturist specializing in complex chronic illness, chronic pain, persistent infections, environmental medicine, and integrative functional medicine. He is known for his deeply investigative, patient-centered approach and works with individuals experiencing conditions that are often complex, misunderstood, or difficult to treat through conventional medicine alone.
Dr. McKee’s journey into medicine began through personal experience after being diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) while living in New York City. After conventional treatments failed to provide relief, he became committed to understanding root-cause healing and integrative medicine. His path was further shaped by witnessing a close friend develop severe neurological Lyme Disease and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS/RSD), an experience that inspired him to dedicate his medical career to helping medically marginalized patients with chronic and complex illnesses find meaningful answers and relief.
Dr. McKee completed dual four-year medical programs in Naturopathic Medicine and Chinese Medicine at National University of Natural Medicine within six years. He later completed a two-year postgraduate clinical mentorship focused on complex chronic illness care.
Prior to medicine, Dr. McKee studied Chemical Engineering at Rutgers University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from School of Visual Arts. His diverse educational and creative background informs his highly analytical yet intuitive approach to patient care.

Approach to Medicine
Dr. McKee practices highly individualized, root-cause-focused medicine that integrates Naturopathic medicine, East Asian medicine, acupuncture, herbal medicine, and conventional pharmaceutical prescribing. His clinical philosophy focuses on restoring balance within the nervous, immune, endocrine, and gastrointestinal systems to support the body’s innate ability to heal. He has a particular interest in East Asian herbal medicine and uses pattern recognition to formulate precise treatments that are unique to every individual.
Dr. McKee’s treatment plans may include:
- Functional and integrative medicine
- East Asian herbal medicine
- Western herbal medicine
- European biotherapeutic drainage therapy
- Nutritional supplementation
- Detoxification
- Pharmaceutical medication support when needed
He believes patients should be educated about all available treatment options and empowered to actively participate in decisions regarding their health and healing.
Dr. McKee maintains a consultation-based telemedicine practice, offering personalized functional medicine care for patients seeking a thoughtful and root-cause-oriented approach to health.
